Lip Treatment

Our registered medical practitioner will assess the mouth area as a whole, considering the body of the lips, the borders and the corners to support balanced proportions.

Lip treatment can be used to add shape or volume to the lips and surrounding areas after an individual consultation. As we age, natural volume is often reduced. After a face to face assessment, suitable adults may be offered a plan that aims to restore definition and support symmetry for a refreshed appearance. Dr Reza, a registered medical practitioner, will consider the mouth area as a whole and discuss options that align with your goals and facial proportions.

Our approach focuses on natural looking results that are proportional to your features. Your preferences are discussed at consultation so that a safe and appropriate plan can be developed for you. Outcomes, the number of sessions and how long effects are maintained vary from person to person.

What to expect

Your practitioner will review your medical history, examine lip shape and surrounding support, and discuss realistic changes that may be achievable for you. Techniques and products are selected based on your needs, including whether you are seeking subtle definition, improvement in symmetry or additional volume. If other treatments could be more suitable, these alternatives will be explained.

After your appointment

  • Temporary swelling or tenderness can occur.
  • A clean, wrapped cold compress may be used in short intervals if recommended by your practitioner.
  • Sleep with your head slightly elevated on the first night if advised, and avoid pressure on the treated area.
  • Use gentle skincare and avoid makeup on the treated area for the remainder of the day unless otherwise directed.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat and alcohol for 24 to 48 hours if recommended.
  • Protect your lips from sun exposure and follow the personalised aftercare provided at your visit.

A review may be scheduled so your practitioner can assess your response and discuss any further care if appropriate. Do not stop any prescribed medicines without advice from your doctor. Please tell us about all medicines and supplements you use, including topical products, so risks can be assessed.

Risks and Recovery

  • Important information: All procedures carry risks and are not suitable for everyone. Services are for adults aged 18 years and over. A consultation with a suitably qualified health practitioner is required to determine suitability and discuss costs, alternatives and the limits of treatment. Individual outcomes vary and cannot be guaranteed.
  • Common effects: Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, itching and firmness at the site can occur. Small lumps may be felt while the area settles. Asymmetry can appear during early swelling.
  • Less common but serious risks: Infection, delayed inflammation, nodules, allergic reaction, ulceration, vessel compromise and tissue damage can occur. Very rare complications include visual changes, blindness, stroke or scarring. Seek urgent medical care if you experience severe pain, pale or mottled skin, worsening redness, fever or any visual symptoms.
  • Precautions and contraindications: Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Caution is required with autoimmune or connective tissue disorders, active skin infection, recent or planned dental work, bleeding disorders, or a history of keloid scarring. Always disclose your full medical history and all medicines and supplements.
  • Recovery: Many people resume normal activities soon after treatment, allowing for temporary swelling or bruising. Your practitioner will advise on expected timelines, review appointments and any maintenance that may be appropriate for you.
  • General advice: This information is general and does not replace advice from a registered health practitioner. We do not use testimonials in our advertising. Images are for information only and are not a prediction of your result.
