LED Light Therapy

HIFU Treatment

Revita Medical & Skin Clinic provides consultation-based care focused on healthy skin. LED Light Therapy is one of the options we may recommend after a face-to-face assessment of your individual concerns and medical history. Information below is general and outcomes vary from person to person.

What is LED Light Therapy?

LED Light Therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses selected light wavelengths to target the skin’s surface. It is designed to support skin quality and is delivered without incisions. The approach does not replace medical care for diagnosed skin diseases. Suitability and the expected course are discussed with your practitioner during consultation.

At Revita Medical & Skin Clinic, treatments are planned to be appropriate to your skin type and goals, with attention to safety and realistic expectations.

The Science Behind LED Light Therapy

LED stands for light-emitting diode. These diodes emit specific colours of visible or near-visible light when an electric current passes through them. Different colours reach different depths of the skin. In a clinical setting, your practitioner selects settings based on your presentation and overall plan. Eye protection is used throughout the session.

Potential Benefits of LED Light Therapy

LED Light Therapy may help with general skin appearance by supporting skin luminosity and texture. Treatment plans often involve multiple sessions. Your practitioner will explain expected benefits, the likely number of sessions, and limits of the treatment for your circumstances. Outcomes and longevity depend on individual factors including skin type, lifestyle and adherence to aftercare.

Acne-related concerns: Certain light colours are used in some patients as part of a management plan for blemish-prone skin. Suitability depends on severity, skin type and concurrent products or medicines. Results vary and multiple sessions may be recommended.

Skin quality and fine lines: Some people seek LED Light Therapy to support skin quality, including the appearance of fine lines and overall skin radiance. Any improvements are typically gradual and differ between individuals.

Post-procedure support: In selected cases, LED may be used by clinicians as part of post-procedure care plans to support general skin recovery. Your practitioner will advise if and when this is appropriate for you.

Other concerns: Claims about treating specific medical conditions require individual assessment. If you have a diagnosed skin condition or scalp concern, please discuss this with your practitioner so that you can receive appropriate medical advice or referral.

At Revita Medical & Skin Clinic, your safety and informed decision-making are central. We will discuss what LED Light Therapy can and cannot do for you, alternatives, likely session frequency and any costs before you decide.

Under-eye appearance: Some patients enquire about the appearance of under-eye darkness. Your practitioner will assess suitability and provide guidance. Outcomes vary and multiple sessions may be required.

What are the Risks of LED Light Therapy

All procedures carry risks. Most people experience minimal effects, however possible temporary effects include:

Redness: This may occur and usually settles shortly after treatment.

Swelling: Mild and short-lived swelling can occur in some individuals.

Itching: Usually mild and temporary if present.

Dryness or tightness: A transient feeling of dryness or tightness may occur and is generally manageable with aftercare advised by your practitioner.

Photosensitivity: If you use photosensitising medicines or products, or have a photosensitive condition, you may be at greater risk of adverse effects. LED Light Therapy may not be suitable in these circumstances. Always disclose your medical history and current medicines, including over-the-counter and topical products.

Appropriate eye protection is required during treatment. Please tell your practitioner about any eye conditions or procedures so we can assess suitability.

Why Choose Revita Medical & Skin Clinic

Clinical assessment: Every course of care begins with an assessment to determine suitability, expected outcomes and whether an alternative would be more appropriate.

Equipment and protocols: Treatments are delivered using clinical protocols and protective measures, including eye protection and screening for contraindications.

Safety and clarity: We provide balanced information about potential benefits, risks, expected session numbers and likely maintenance so that you can make an informed decision.

Results and follow-up: Results vary. Your practitioner will outline a plan, expected timeframes, and follow-up. We will reassess progress and adjust or discontinue if it is not meeting your needs.

Personalised care: We recognise that each person’s skin and goals are different. Recommendations are individualised and may include skincare, sun protection and other non-procedural measures.

Is LED Light Therapy Safe?

When LED Light Therapy is used in appropriate candidates with correct eye protection and without conflicting medicines or products, it is generally well tolerated. It is not suitable for everyone. A consultation is required to determine if this treatment is appropriate for you. Services are intended for adults aged 18 years and over. Outcomes vary between individuals.

Risks and Recovery

Before treatment: A consultation is required to review your medical history, medicines and skincare. Avoid self-treating with new active products before your appointment unless advised by your practitioner.

Aftercare: You may return to normal daily activities, however mild redness or sensitivity can occur. Use sun protection and follow any aftercare provided. Avoid photosensitising products unless specifically approved by your practitioner.

Possible adverse effects: Temporary redness, swelling, itching, dryness or headache can occur. Rarely, light sensitivity reactions may occur. If you experience unexpected symptoms, contact the clinic for guidance or seek medical care.

Treatment frequency and maintenance: A series of sessions is commonly recommended. The number and spacing of sessions, and any maintenance, will be discussed with you. Results are not guaranteed and vary between individuals.
